The brief
What they needed.
IEI runs several distinct programmes — leadership circles, climate action, digital skills and education — across remote valleys. Their story needed to reach partners, funders and volunteers who may never visit the region.
They needed a consistent visual identity their own team could apply across social media and printed material, and a website that explains each programme clearly and gives volunteers a way in.
The build
What we delivered.
Brand book
An 11-page brand book covering logo, colour, type, graphic system, voice and ready-to-use social templates, so the team can produce on-brand material without a designer.
Programme pages
A dedicated page for each programme stream, so partners and funders can go straight to the work that matters to them.
Impact and partners
Impact figures and partner organisations presented up front, giving visitors the context they need to trust and support the collective.
Volunteer portal
A volunteer area with login access, alongside media, gallery and contact sections.
Social integration
Instagram content brought into the site to keep it current between updates.
Why it worked
The thinking behind it.
Every decision on this build answers to the people the site is for. Here is the reasoning.
01Built for people who will never visit
Most of IEI's partners and funders will never see the valleys in person. Giving each programme its own page lets them go straight to the work they care about, so the site does the explaining a field visit would.
02Trust before the ask
For a small collective in a remote region, credibility is the first hurdle. Impact figures and partner organisations sit up front, before anyone is asked to volunteer or support.
03A brand the team can run on its own
IEI has no in-house designer. A brand book with ready-made social templates means their material stays consistent long after handover, without paying for every post.
04Kept fresh by what they already post
The team already shares its work on Instagram. Bringing that feed into the site keeps it current with no extra publishing step.
Compass Type helps students, graduates and career-changers find careers that fit them. We built the web app: a structured assessment, AI-written reports, user accounts and paid plans.
